What is Quatrefolic®?
Quatrefolic® is a safe source of folic acid for the body without side effects. It is absorbed and assimilated without being metabolized even in the absence of the enzyme MTHFR (methyltetrahydrofolate reductase).
What is the difference between Quatrefolic® and folic acid?
Quatrefolic® and folic acid are both forms of vitamin B9. Their main difference is that Quatrefolic® is the glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a structural analog of the active form of folic acid that can be directly used, without metabolism. In contrast, folic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin B9, which is found in various nutritional supplements and is used as a food enhancer.
